ART 278 Sculpture: Woodworking

A foundational woodworking course focusing on sculpture. Design and construct your own sculptural projects using all major woodworking machines and traditional carving techniques. As part of the process, students will learn to evaluate rough milled wood for best cuts and usage, as well as how to square and machine rough into usable lumber. Explore common joinery, construction, carving techniques, and wood finishes. May be repeated up to 8 total credits.
