MGMT 488 Project Management 2

This course is the second in the Project Management sequence, and is designed to provide an opportunity for students to apply the foundational knowledge and skills from Project Management 1. Working in teams, students will execute, monitor, and close a project. Emphasis will be on successful project execution and project evaluation. This course will also cover use of project management software and working in virtual teams.

Course Learning Outcomes

Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:
1. Identify key theories and concepts of the project management framework established in the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK®)
2. Apply the principles, techniques, and tools of the project manager to plan, execute, monitor and close a project
3. Identify and evaluate the key features of project management software
4. Explain how to monitor and track project progress and correct related problems
5. Identify and describe strategies to successfully manage a project team
5. Use project management software tools to work in virtual teams
6.Prepare to sit for the CAPM® or PMP® certification exam
