XLMT 5977K Kinesiology: Lower Body

Kinesiology Lower Body presents intermediate level kinesiology concepts and principles, anatomy, and anatomical terminology as related to the attachments of muscles and muscle movement. Palpation as an exploratory learning tool follows content presentation. Kinesiology-Lower Body is the fourth in a sequence of kinesiology courses.

Course Learning Outcomes

Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:

1. Know kinesiology foundation concepts, principles, and definitions

2. Understand and use intermediate level terminology as related to structural kinesiology

3. Recognize types of joints and demonstrate joint movement

4. Locate and palpate skeletal and soft tissue landmarks of the human body as related to the attachments of muscles (origins and insertions)

5. Demonstrate movement (actions) of select course muscles

6. Understand and observe precautions and endangerment sites

7. Practice sanitation skills
