XLMT 5975 Massage 3

This course aims to enhance students' hands-on confidence and communication skills. Throughout the course students will develop the ability to sustain a one hour Swedish massage with Intakes and SOAP notes. Additionally gaining experience in chair massage, side-lying/maternity massage, and some injury specific techniques. Students will continue to build on techniques introduced in Massage 1 and 2. No textbook required. Massage 3 students have the option to sign up separately and join Practice Lab.

Course Learning Outcomes

Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:

1. Confidently conduct a client intake, create a client-specific treatment plan, and complete a 1-hour Swedish-style massage with professional draping, communication, and body mechanics

2. Learn how to check in with clients during and after treatment, handle payments and re-scheduling and provide after-session care

3. Confidently work with the general public in student clinic, representing the LCC Massage Therapy Licensure Program. Preparing students for student outreach & chair massage events
