RC 228 Respiratory Care Clinical Practice 4

This course will provide Clinical experiences focused on developing proficiency in critical care skills primarily of the adult patient in the intensive care and emergency department settings.

Course Learning Outcomes

Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:
1. Apply respiratory care and general medical knowledge appropriate to the critical care setting
2. Recommend appropriate diagnostic and therapeutic procedures based on patient assessment and information gathered from the patient’s chart
3. Perform a thorough patient respiratory assessment
4. Perform cardiopulmonary therapeutic procedures and use modalities appropriate to the critical care setting
5. Exhibit professional behavior
6. Use clear communication and demonstrate the ability to work collaboratively with other members of the healthcare team
