RC 224 Clinical Competency Assessment

This course is designed to provide a format for final evaluation of student competence in performance of skills taught in previous lab and clinical courses. Instructors will evaluate students' performance of skills using performance evaluations that identify passing criteria for each skill.

Course Learning Outcomes

Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:
1. Demonstrate skills and procedures required of advanced practitioner level respiratory care practitioners
2. Adhere to the American Association of Respiratory Care “Code of Conduct” in providing care to patients
3. Communicate effectively through electronic, written, and oral methods of record keeping
4. Comply with established clinical practice protocols and guidelines to assure patient safety
