RC 212L Neonatal and Pediatric Respiratory Care Lab

This laboratory course provides hands-on application of neonatal and pediatric respiratory care concepts. Students will practice assessment, resuscitation, airway management, and mechanical ventilation techniques to prepare for clinical training and NRP/PALS certification.

Course Learning Outcomes

Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:
1. Identify common complications that may occur specific to birth complications, neonatal and pediatric conditions
2. Apply commonly used newborn and pediatric assessment tools
3. Predict respiratory distress in neonates and pediatric patients.
4. Perform resuscitative procedures for newborns, infants and pediatrics
5. Apply established guidelines for appropriate ventilation and monitoring of neonatal and pediatric patients
