RC 220 Emergency and Critical Care Part 2

This course builds on content presented in the prerequisite courses. Provides opportunity for certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), and Neonatal Resuscitation Programs (NRP).

Course Learning Outcomes

Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:
1. Interpret samples of normal and abnormal ECG rhythm, rate and conduction disturbances
2. Recommend ventilation, defibrillation, medication and airway management techniques for correction of life threatening scenarios using ACLS, PALS and NRP protocols
3. List the mechanisms of action, indications and contraindications and appropriate dosages of drugs used in the management of life threatening cardiopulmonary scenarios
