MUL 229 Graphic Design 2

Available only to students accepted into the graphic design program, this course explores graphic design in three-dimensions through the design of brochures, packaging, and event graphics. Students learn grid systems, the use of templates and dielines, how to prepare files for print, proofing, cutting, scoring and folding in the completion of their projects. Students demonstrate an understanding of how to graphically communicate to a target audience while also considering the wider world audience.

Course Learning Outcomes

Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:
1. Use grid systems and geometry for best practices in graphic design
2. Create multi-page advertising and 3-dimensional packaging design
3. Execute graphics for a project that are aesthetically cohesive within a corporate identity system
4. Create and communicate an identity system to others for cohesive results
5. Provide and receive feedback in a team environment to facilitate the success of a graphic design project
6. Design with images and messaging that takes into consideration accessibility and a wider world audience
