NRS 445 Community Health 2: Population Health

This course delves deeper into the principles and practices of community and public health nursing. Building on foundational concepts, this course emphasizes the role of nurses in assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating health interventions for populations. Students will explore epidemiological methods, community assessment techniques, and strategies for health promotion and disease prevention. This course also examines the impact of public policy on community health and includes a module on public health emergencies and disasters, preparing students to respond effectively to crises. Through theoretical and practical experiences, students will learn to apply nursing strategies to improve community health outcomes. Assessments in the form of case studies, form discussions, pre and post tests, and a final project will support student learning throughout the course.
