XSKR 0517D GED: Reading/Writing

This GED preparation class helps students learn and practice strategies that will improve reading comprehension and writing in order to improve foundation skills for all content areas. Students will learn strategies for reading closely in order to identify and evaluate claims and supporting evidence and develop writing skills to be able to create organized text-based responses.

Course Learning Outcomes

Students will gain the critical reading and writing skills and knowledge adults must have for success in college, technical training, and careers. Courses provide comprehensive instruction in English language arts/literacy specifically identifying what adults need to know to be prepared for postsecondary education, training, and employment. This includes completion of high school equivalency, the GED, and preparation for entering postsecondary education and/or employment.
