Human Services: Addiction Studies, CPC

This program is designed for students who are interested in career enhancement and certification in addiction counseling. Students completing this Career Pathway Certificate fulfill the 150 hours of drug and alcohol education required by the Mental Health and Addiction Certification Board of Oregon (MHACBO) for a CADC I (Certified Alcohol Drug Counselor). State certification also requires successfully completing 1000 hours of supervised practice and a written exam. Three credits of Cooperative Education may apply toward the supervised hours requirement.

Credit for Prior Learning

Students who hold a current CADC license from the Mental Health & Addiction Certification Board of Oregon should contact Academic Advising about receiving credit for prior learning towards Lane’s Human Services degree and Career Pathway Certificate, Addiction Studies. Current CADC 1 or higher certificate holders may be eligible to receive up to 15 transfer credits for the following courses: HS 102, HS 150, HS 155, HS 228, and 3 credits of HS 280AS.
