This certificate encompasses 3 fields of manufacturing that are increasingly needed in a single shop. Manual machining, CNC machine operation, and stick welding. For many industries like lumber all three skills are needed. This will give students an introduction to all three skills. MFG 101 will teach basic manual machining skills, CNC 101/111 will teach CNC machine operation (CNC101 is open to all students on campus while CNC111 is for full time CNC students). WLD 121/122 will teach the skills needed to begin stick welding. This will give students an introduction to the skills, and allow them to continue to hone those skills through Lane’s larger certificates and degree options.
