Course Learning Outcomes

Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:

1. Fit and tack typical industrial weld joints

2. Use the GMAW process with various shielding gases and metal transfer modes to weld typical industrial joints to entry-level standards including spray pulsed spray, short circuit and globular

3. Use the FCAW-G and FCAW-s process and various shielded gases and metal transfer modes to weld typical industrial joints to entry-level standards

4. Demonstrate proficiency when metal core arc welding to a level equal to welders with industrial experience in these processes.

5. Test weld coupons using various equipment

6. Write welding schedules for maintaining familiarity with the parameters associated with GMAW and FCAW-G welding procedure specifications
