Course Learning Outcomes

Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:

1. Make power source adjustments necessary for self shielded flux cored arc welding

2. Identify the type, cause and solution to weld defects typically associated with self shielded flux cored arc welding processes

3. Prepare materials, outline testing procedures, make welds, prepare test specimens, and execute testing consistent with standards established by American Welding Society

4. Demonstrate proficiency when self shielded flux cored arc welding to a level equal to welders with industrial experience in these processes
