Course Learning Outcomes

Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:

1. Complete a health assessment that is client centered and family centered and both developmentally and culturally appropriate

2. Provide safe and effective, developmentally, and culturally appropriate care to clients with chronic illness based on each individual’s unique needs

3. Develop a client centered and family orientated plan of care for a client with a chronic illness

4. Identify roles and functions of members of the health care team to provide care for the chronically ill

5. Apply the ANA Code of Ethics, nursing values and legal standards in the care of persons with a chronic illness or disability

6. Adhere to institutional policy and procedure and the electronic medical record in the provision of timely client care
