CIS 135G Software Tools 2: Game Development

This course builds upon the material covered in CIS 125G. Topics covered include physics simulation, user controls, graphical methods, animation issues, and script writing for game building tools. Students will work with an industry standard game development engine and will design and create several games.

Prerequisite

CIS 125G and one of CS 162C or CS 233C, or CS 162N or CS 233N or instructor's permission.

Course Learning Outcomes

Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:

1. Program in a scripting language for game development

2. Work with an elementary physics engine

3. Collaborating with team members to create several computer games

4. Use basic computer AI techniques in creating a game

5. Develop an effective user interface
