NRS 113B Transition to Registered Nursing Lab

NRS 113 B is the transition laboratory course intended to complement learning in NRS 113A. The laboratory course is self paced and designed to allow students to apply previous learning to new skills, learn all new skills, or to test out of skills already mastered.

Course Learning Outcomes

Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:

1. Create evidence-based, individualized, developmentally appropriate plans of care that are dynamic and based on the changing needs of the client and family
2. Examine the clinical decision model to guide client-centered, developmentally and culturally appropriate, evidence-based decision-making in the acute care setting
3. Examine potential legal and ethical issues related to client decision-making and informed consent in acute care settings
4. Communicate discharge plans in collaboration with the client, family, and health care team
5. Apply evidence-based interventions, agency policy and procedure, and clinical practice guidelines in the provision of client care in the acute care setting
