An introduction to digital prepress production with emphasis on page layout software and professional standards of production.

ART 216 and acceptance into the second year of the graphic design program

Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:

1. Use introductory-level industry language and terminology as it relates to type and print

2. Create basic layouts that include type and image

3. Use appropriate software combinations in creating basic design projects

4. Proof text and layout for errors at a basic level

5. Create print-ready files

6. Craft finished products from printed materials
