BT 291 Introduction to Operations Management

This course addresses the design and control of processes of production for both goods and services. The course covers business operations for improvements in efficiencies and effectiveness in terms of meeting customer requirements. It addresses managing the process that converts inputs (raw materials, labor, and energy) into outputs of goods and/or services.

Course Learning Outcomes

Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:
1. Direct and coordinate the activities of businesses or departments
2. Manage a staff by preparing work schedules and assigning specific duties
3. Review financial statements, sales and activity reports, and other performance data to measure productivity
4. Establish and implement departmental policies, goals, objectives, and procedures
