FIRE 110 Wildland Fire Management Seminar

This seminar course will help students frame the concepts in their classes and bring context within the field of wildland fire management. Weekly meetings will include guest speakers, professional development opportunities, student presentations, and how to apply for various fire related careers in our region.

Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:
1. Synthesize information from wildland fire management courses into a relevant professional presentation
2. Discuss the various occupational fields associated with and adjacent to wildland fire
3. Utilize the methods and strategies to apply for work in various public and private agencies
4. Discuss the intersections between societal occupations and ecological fire management
5. Relate fire management concepts to human relations and organizational skills required for fire careers including written, oral, and interpersonal communication
