CG 220 Life Transitions

This course is designed to help students enrolled in the Life Transition course navigate their current life transitions and explore positive new life directions. Topics will include: understanding life transitions, relationships, increasing self-compassion, coping with powerful emotions, developing healthy power and assertiveness and learning new strategies to deal with acceptance and change.

Course Learning Outcomes

Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:
1. Identify common elements of life transitions and apply an acceptance and change model to current and future transitions
2. Evaluate how past and present relationships impact current life transitions
3. Build on their self-awareness and develop skills in assertiveness, relations, self-compassion, and managing powerful emotions
4. Identify and utilize personal and community resources for managing challenging life transitions
