This course provides students with a basic understanding of various diseases of the human body. The introduction to signs and symptoms of diseases and how they develop and may be treated by clinical professionals will be explored.

Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:
1. Define the basic terminology of the disease process
2. Describe the most commonly occurring diseases of each body system
3. Describe the mechanisms of hereditary disease, environmental factors involved in disease and diseases caused by deficiencies or excesses of nutrition
4. Discuss the general effects of stress and aging on the human body
5. Research a current topic regarding a specific disease and its disease process
