XESL 0516J ESL Jumpstart

Jumpstart is a course for immigrants, refugees, and asylum seekers who wish to take ESL classes and have attempted to register after the registration deadline. The course serves as an in-depth orientation to the ESL Program and to Lane Community College. Learners in this course can begin their study of English and access ESL Program and LCC services without waiting for a new term to start. Students will gain language and study skills, jumpstarting their learning prior to entry into ESL courses. This course will help students explore their language learning, career, and academic goals. The course also serves to provide appropriate placement in and successful transition to the sequence of ESL courses in the Community Education Program and the Intensive English Program.
