WR 127 Workplace Writing

This course teaches students adaptable communication strategies to apply in the workplace. Students will learn about reading and writing in an organizational context, including discussions of field specific standards and codes of ethics and conduct. Featured speakers representing a variety of fields will talk with students about communication expectations in workplaces, contexts, and settings associated with their fields. Projects will include research and writing for workplace tasks like emails, application packets, instructions, PowerPoints, and other documents relevant to students' chosen fields. This course fulfills writing requirements for some Lane programs. Note: This three-credit writing course will count as a prerequisite for WR 121Z at Lane Community College only. Students who plan to transfer should be aware of how WR 127 will transfer to their specific target institution.
