UAS 121 Multirotor Systems

Student will build and keep a quality multirotor UAV, and will learn about and assemble drone subsystems, radios, sensors, avionics, autopilot integration, and autopilot tuning and flight testing and manual and autonomous flight operations with the drone. This is the first year intro into UAV maintenance, manufacture, and design, and serves as an autopilot awareness and training class which is built upon in later classes.

Course Learning Outcomes

Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:

1. Understand UAV multirotor design, avionics assembly, electronics assembly, flight testing a multirotor, wiring and power systems, Command and Control links, and autopilot integration and basic tuning strategies, including manual and autonomous multirotor flight
