CNC 231 Advanced CNC Machining: Skill Proofing

Students will continue with advanced machining projects on 3 axis, 5 axis and Y axis machines with an emphasis on improving accuracy, quality and speed. Students will learn to make and use more complex fixtures; and to program use of fixtures for production needs. Students will utilize advanced metrology and document quality control on multiples of the same part.

Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:

1. Set up an advanced CNC machine for cutting under strict timelines

2. Be able to time manage production needs in order to meet deadlines

3. Create parts to specification by a given deadline

4. Inspect parts to prints specifications using digital metrology equipment

5. Create accurate inspection reports within strict deadlines

7. Create 3D models under strict timelines

8. Create 4 axis lathe cutting programs under strict timelines

9. Create 5 axis cutting programs under strict timeline
