CJA 213L Interviewing and Interrogation Writing Lab

A companion course to CJA 213 Interviewing and Interrogation that provides students with specific instruction and practice in law enforcement documentation and report writing methods and products. The course will focus on observation and descriptive writing skills necessary to write accurate and effective reports, affidavits, memoranda, and other documents specific to law enforcement interviews and interrogations.

Course Learning Outcomes

Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:
1. Accurately document evidence, events, and investigative measures in accordance with law enforcement note-taking best practices
2. Observe and accurately represent written and oral communications
3. Write factual, descriptive, narrative prose that is free of errors and consistent with professional usage and style conventions
4. Assimilate and accurately report documentary and testimonial information from multiple sources in a clear and appropriately concise manner
