ART 111 Introduction to Visual Arts

This course introduces students to the visual arts and the relationship between art, design, and contemporary culture through lectures, discussions, readings, field trips, and guest speakers. It examines forms and methods of artistic production, exhibition, and their reception by varied audiences. This course examines the concepts, vocabulary, and social contexts that influence our experience of the visual arts today.
